China Gourmet Trip (11) - 9/26 To Huai'an 往淮安

We would leave Yangzhou after breakfast to continue our journey into Huai'an(淮安). Shirley and I had a good night's rest and got up early to walk around the Yangzhou State Guesthouse complex. It was really a beautiful place both at night and day time, I took more pictures to show them here:
We stopped at a roadside rest area on our way to Huai'an and found some interesting local specialty foods displayed there. We were tempted by the various food packages there, however, due to the limit on our luggage weight, we only picked ONE item to buy and share among us to take home. This is what we chose: Famous Gao-Yew Twin-Yoke Salted Duck Eggs. A Chef's Secret Tip: When making "Yangzhou Fried Rice", chop and mix these eggs into the rice and you will add very tasty flavor to your cooking!
