China Gourmet Trip (15) - 9/26 Huai'an 淮安外辦晚宴

By the time we came out of the Opening Ceremony, it was 10:00 PM and we were all ready for some food since we skipped dinner to attend the event. No worry, a Late Dinner Banquet was already waiting for us at the Huaizhou hotel, hosted by Ms. Zhu, Director of Huai'an Foreign Affairs Office. It was another big feast with foods representing Huai'an local specialties. Although some of the dishes were similar to our lunch feast, they still tasted delicious to us. We enjoyed 8 appetizer dishes, 14 main dishes plus 2 bun dishes, so much food that I wish I had more than one stomach to stuff them all! At 12:00 midnight, we ended our banquet with our thanks to Director Zhu and took a group picture for remembrance. She insisted to invite us for breakfast the next day before we depart Huai'an. Her warm hospitality was indeed touching to us, we only hope that she would visit us in the U.S. one day and let us return the favor as well.
